Every Solution to Every Problem is Already Yours
Nice work man, very creative use of the Force.
Thank you! It gets even wierder, haha. I have another one going up in about 24 hours. :)
You saved me from having to do that individually to 142 tracks... thank you so much sir.
Is this my friend Baz? How are you?! Keep in mind that the protocol has changed just a bit. When you select all the tracks and export, there is now a box to tick; "Multiple Files". The rest is the same.
Awesome!! I also multisample with the Force and then Export to the John Melas Editor for Yamaha Montage/MODX. Then it's possible to Crossfade loops. I think this doesn't work straight from the Akai software?
This is really good information; thank you!
Came for the guide, stayed for the budgies.
Haha, thank you! Senator Birdie Sanders and Feather Locklear. :)
Also note that a more recent update changed the workflow just a tad. Now, selecting all tracks (ctrl+A), then export (ctrl+Shift+E) gives you a box to tick, "individual files" or something like that.
awesome channel
Thank you, I appreciate that. <3
Nice work, Daniel! This really comes together! 😁🙏👊
I appreciate you, Dean! Thank you for watching. :)
thanks for sharing. dope music and loving that performance template btw 👌
Thank you, Bryn! I really enjoy using this template, but I've come to discover I need to change it a bit. I just haven't gotten around to it.
Quick (dumb ?) question: why do you sample the various Hype-synth sounds and play them as key groups into clips, rather than just play the midi into the clips as hype-synth plug-ins ? Do you prefer the sound of the sampled synth rather than the “live” synth sound played direct from the plug-in ? Or can you do more (modulation, effects, etc) with the sample than with the plug-in sound payed direct ? Hope that makes sense ! Thanks 🙏
Great question! Honestly, for the top synths I rarely resample, and opt for my own keygroups and synth collection. But I wanted to keep this demo all in the Force. For basslines, though, there just aren't that many plugin tracks available, and I often have 3 or so dozen clips in one movement. I love being able to imprint layers of effects, which really adds to the possibilities in the Force, and I even like to overdub with external FX, via Ableton or other, which I haven't even covered here.
Great tutorial 👍. Always a pleasure watching you work on the Force 👏👏🎶
Thank you, Ken! I appreciate you!
Awesome work!! This workflow is amazing for creativity and exploration. Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you for watching, I appreciate you! I'd love to connect with you sometime. My email is SnowMetalUniversity at gmail. Feel free to send me a message sometime. I'm excited to see someone looking at the Force from a different perspective, if you know what I mean!

great video!
Thank you, I hope you got some value out of it. :)
@danieklerr yess...you mean to tell me all i need is to take 1 sample from anything i create and force will give me all the notes of the scale once applied into a keygroup?????!?!?!?!!????!
Absolutely. I've discovered this to be a very powerful piece of my workflow.

Excellent and intuitive use of The Force, good sir. I always learn something 'round 'ere !
I appreciate that; thank you! I have more coming. I've been having a lot of great ideas with the Force over the last few days.
Thanks you Bro for yours Force tuto, they're always very pertinent
Thank you, I really appreciate you watching. :)
This is fucking inspiring!! I am coming very close to what you are achieving here using my cheap Korg Drumlogue, which has no screen for reference. 😅 But now... seeing this?! I'm going to try using some of these tips on my MPC One. I know it's not the same device as your Force, but I am thinking I can apply these principles to the four banks of 16 pads. And now, with the recent update, it might even be a more streamlined process. You are doing god's work sir!!
These techniques are absolutely applicable in the One, I'm glad you're getting some value here! I uploaded a video this evening on resampling for complex sound design, which I'll be releasing tomorrow. Those techniques will also work on your MPC One. Thank you for watching. :)
just got one of these in mint condition for $60! FM sounds just so good with effects
Beautiful, great deal! Congratulations. :)

@@danieklerr hA!! absolutely based
it all sounds like early-mid 2000s Ladytron. AI lyrics seem to be disjointed meaningless fluff, like anyone would notice these days
Absolutely. It's both astounding and lackluster, haha. This was a very polarizing video, and it was just me playing around. Thanks for watching!
@@danieklerr i find a lot of the AI stuff good casual listening for people who don’t like deep meaning in lyrics. Lyrically and musically its all derivative fluff. It has a distinctive "cut and paste from stuff you've already heard" sound. Like, its ok for background music to chill to and study to etc.. but it's not going to radically change your life and mindset upon listening to it. Its not going to suddenly make a new System of a Down type distinctive music style. On the flip side the AI dilution of music and art may make people crave the authentic more? lets hope.
So far the leaps forward are incredible, but I feel what you're saying. It seems like Udio's capacity for hilarious and satirical lyrics are pretty good. Commercial jingles for ads, elevator music for short presentations, this type of thing, will certainly make these jobs into a non-human entity. But you're right about the basic human need for authenticity. Also, instead of striving for fame, maybe musicians will get back to making art for art's sake.
Sheesh!😳
Yep. Haha. I'm glad it's over.
Scanners... You ever listen to Darshan?
I think I may have heard a track by him. Was he on the old "Distance to Goa" compilations, in the late 90's?
@@danieklerr probably. They sampled Scanners, and your track reminded me. Your track is good.
Thank you! I'm definitely on a Darshan binge now, haha, so thanks. In fact, I love early psy. Off topic note: I think a lot of people have never noticed how important Bill and Rhys from FrontLine Assembly were in the development of psy-genres, particularly their offshoot projects, Intermix, Delerium and Noise Unit.
@@danieklerr I listened to some of that back in the day. I remember I liked Front 242..
Yeah. I do that all the time.
Very nice! Thank you for watching!
@20:00 how did you space the samples to line up with the sample start edit?!? I have been trying to figure this out for a long time!?! Please do a video on building the multisamples?
The process is very straightforward, actually. Just make sure your many-synth sample has exactly 64 equal slices. Sample Start has 64 increments before it slips into "reverse" mode. And you can motion sequence these as well. In the ESX you can set your synth part to one "voice", or start position, and motion-sequence another "voice", and toggle back and forth between voices by toggling the Motion Sequence on/off. I wonder if this works in the ES2?
@danieklerr I must have over complicated it! I thought it split samples into 100 parts, but only 64 where accesible. In hacktribe, if you go into step edit and scroll to the last page, you can sequence the 'edit' knob. I found this valuble with the oscillator types as I couldn't get samples to line up right. On the original E2, this was not available.
Sampling rumbles is a clever way to get your rumble. I need to do a video to show how I do my rumbles. I use the modulator lfo to pitch. But I also don't use the rumble much.
Sort of off topic. But I think the Modwave might be my next purchase and I'm wondering if you could use the modwaves "motion sequencing 2.0" to drive the CC's to the electribe? That polymetric cc lanes has me obsessed!
Since both units are Korg, it would be amazing if the parameters were the same. I'll try it later and see what comes of it.
Yo bro! You look like a reborn Kate Flint. Time to rejoin The Prodigy!
Dude! Haha, I love Keith Flint. And I was born in Flint. Thanks for watching. :)
Great, thanks for sharing! I'm on the fence buying a Digitakt II but the "new" Electribes do look nice as well. Man, I can't decide...I need more videos. I'm looking forward to what you can do with this modified Sampler! >Cheers
I am absolutely certain I could do more with the Digitakt, and the sound quality of Elektron boxes really suits me. Nonetheless, the E2 and ES2 are dirt cheap on the used market, considering what they do. I have another video editing now, and it will be up in a couple hours. Thank you for watching!
Love it. I recognise the stonk sample in there from the e2s
I appreciate that, thank you!
Nice to see you do this! .
Thank you, I appreciate you!
Somehow when I mention hacktribe on this channel the message gets lost… I commented today at about 10 am and I can’t see the comment…
Yikes, that's not good. I've had similar things happen to other comments. I'll dig around and see if I can find it.
I didn't find yours, but when I looked in my "held for review" section in Studio I found other Hacktribe comments with the note "blocked words" next to them.
@@danieklerr I’ve posted an link to it maybe that’s the thing
Dang! What was the link? Can you give me the title, I'll search for it?
How much internal memory to reckons the ModWave has? I’ve been curious about this…🤔
It's sizable. These multisamples take up far less room than I would expect, so there is probably some sort of file compression taking place. I'll make a note of the exact size the next time I connect the synth.
@@danieklerr ok thanks! Wavetables take barely any memory cause they are so small.
since the Modwave is largely using the same hardware and collection of samples as the Wavestate, I'd guess the amount of available storage is about the same, which on the Wavestate is around 3GB.
@@fisk0 that’s plenty for Wavetable catalog which is about 1.2-1.5GB thanks for clueing us all up! 🤝
1.5 gb of wavetables must be in the tens of thousands. Multisamples definitely take up more space. I wish the Modwave had a better wave-search architecture.
But how can i do it?
I realize that I didn't know the choosing of actual notes, and said "use a tuner". I explain in a lot more detail in an older video. Search on my channel: "Korg ESX Pitch Hack: Up To 13 Keyboard Parts? SnowMetal 2021"
Dope Track, Daniel! 😁🙏👊
Thank you very much!
That is exactly how I did it. I have a D-110 pack coming soon done this way.
Well, its not a VST but hardware the principle is the same.
Nice! I have seen your posts about the D110 pack coming. It's cool you already discovered the MPC Autosampler. Interesting thing, I was an early adopter of the MPC Live, and the very first multisample I ever made was of my favorite patch on the hardware Korg Wavestation AD.
So this can be done with an external hardware synth using MPC Beats?
Absolutely, although you'll need a MIDI cable and interface. I just didn't have my hardware setup handy when I made the video.
That's awesome ... Thanks!
Thank you! I appreciate you watching. :)
Great I have MPC ONE+ and MPC software and Korg Modwave! Thank You for this video and info I will keep it in mind! It would be nice to know is it possible to make sounds from whole composition? I mean you made this from one note but if we actually make small track of small melody - will it be possible to export that as sound to Modwave?
Ah, like four tracks of clips? This is an interesting idea, and I'm certain the answer is yes. I'll give it a shot!
when i try to load the rendered clip it ALWAYS puts it back in the track i recorded it from. The originating track is a drum program and it just puts the clip on a pad in that device. THis is the 2nd video fo yours ive followed on this topic and i just cannot get it to load the clip on the channel i want. Any ideas what im doing wrong? is this because i updated the firmware and this process no longer works or something ?? :(
Hello.. I'm sorry you're having trouble. In the new track, you are selecting the pad you want to load the rendered clip on? If so, it should load in that spot, specifically. If you are creating a clip first, sometimes the "browse samples" is not available, but it will become available if you choose Grid view at the top, then the square (drag select) option on the right, then touch or tap the waveform. I know this is ridiculous. At Akai, they only employ genius savants apparently, who have great ideas but lack common sense. :) Haha. Let me know if this is what you needed to know.
i used the save clip as audio option, loaded it to the pool, create an empty clip, but then "browse samples" is greyed out and i cant find anyway to load the rendered clip into another track :/
I replied to your comment on the other video. I hope this helps you, check it out. If not, I'll help you with more troubleshooting, just let me know!
Select the selection tool, you can then select a sample
If only hacktribe did 8 bars. Maybe in the future. Fingers crossed.
This is really the major setback with this unit, to be honest. At the vary least, conditional triggers like the Elektron boxes would add greatly to the performance potential. Have you considered running it next to a tiny sequencer capable of more bars? Sequencing 8 of the 16 channels with a QY-70 or something would be very powerful.
@@danieklerr I have two live setups. Main one being DT2 driving a virus snow and iPad. 2nd setup is the EMX that I would have liked to partner with E2s. I did have an ESX that the EMX partnered with. But watching TWO ‘sequencers’ can make you go cross eyed. It does me at least. So at the moment I run the EMX with iPad running koala sampler. Channel 5 on the EMX has its level turned off and the keys in keyboard mode are all mapped to koala so I can trigger whatever sample. Koala has very few limitations and can happily trigger 8 bar renders I output from logic or Cubase or beatmaker 3 (iPad).
DT2 is the Digitakt II? I often miss the Virus, not only for the incredible editing options, but for those crispy oscillators. In fact, if the Modwave had the punchiness of the Virus or Nord it could be the most powerful synth ever made. Anyway, after writing that comment above -literally in the last ten minutes, haha, I got inspired and purchased a Yamaha QX5 to sequence my new Hacktribe. :)
@@danieklerr 😆. Yes the digitakt 2. Love the virus. I have the snow. I also use the OsTirus vst within DAW. It’s useful to audition sounds then export a sysex into the snow for live usage. Snow runs off power bank with ripcord.
@@johncarter2741 .. OsTirus has been a gamechanger for me! It rips my CPU, haha, but I can still use it if I'm careful. I love to make patches then use the Force to create huge multisamples (keygroups) for use in other samplers. Loading these multisamples in the Modwave, I can add my custom wavetables as extra oscillators. I should do a video about it. Which power bank do you prefer, if you don't mind me asking? I've been having limited success with various purchases.
🙄🙌 🙏🙄machine god
What's good?! I'm no god! Haha. :)
